Match report We started well, with Gemma and Sana opening, runs came quickly before Sana was bowled out in the 4th over. Elsa went in supporting Gemma well, the two ran well between the wicket and kept the runs coming. The twelfth over saw us lose two wickets with Elsa being run out on 4 and Gemma bowled on 29. We were on 58, two new batters in Mya and Preeti and 8 overs to get some runs on the board. Ickenham had a good bowling attack, not giving away too many runs and taking another wicket in the 14th over. Salma and Preeti fought hard to find some runs, losing another wicket in the final over and finishing on 78.

A small target to defend, having given away so many wide in our previous two games, our main aim was to bowl a good line and make them work for their runs. Mya opened the bowling with a maiden. We have always said fielding was one of our strengths and we showed that with a run out in the second over. Our bowlers continued to work hard, keeping the wides down. Lucy came on to bowl taking two wickets and supported well by Elsa at the other end who gave away only two runs in her two overs. The runs started to slow down for them and Ickenham started retiring players trying to give everyone a bat. Katy came on and took a great catch of her own bowling, Ickenham were 49 -3 in the 13th over. We still had a chance with the run slowing down, but we would have to bowl well to two of their stronger batters. Preeti and Lucy came back onto bowl supported well by some great fielding in the field, forcing the batters to hit out. Lucy took a catch at cover off Preeti's bowling, but this came just a little too late, Ickenham required 4 runs of the last two overs.

A few more runs on the board and it may have been a closer game going our way. Some real big positives to take from the game, we all worked well on the field getting ourselves behind everything. We cut the number of wides we have given over the past two games to less than half!! Well done ladies.
