Match report We had a very mixed team out in terms of experience against Ickenham, who also had a number of younger players. Ickenham won the toss and chose to have a bowl first, with Maz out this week Edna stepped up to the mark to open with Keely. We knew that a big total was required against Ickenham and Keely and Edna set about that well, with some aggressive batting. A diving one handed catch saw Keely walking back to the changing room in the fourth over. Edna continued with her aggressive style of play supported well by Katie who was not feeling her best after catching a bug whilst away in South Africa. The runs kept coming as they hit the ball well and with a lot of power, the Ickenham captain managed to keep hold of one that came off the middle of Katie's bat finishing on 13. Edna continued to bat on as wickets feel the other side and the run rate began to drop. Ednas time came to an end as she found a fielder finishing on 37 with the team on 62-4 off 15. Mags (13) and Preeti (13) were in working well trying to steady the game, before Mags was bowled. Elsa, Eimear and Mya all got to experience batting in a ladies game, finishing on 101 all out.

With names missing from our bowling attack, Mags and Reshma opened the bowling.Both bowled well, keeping the runs down, but Ickenham where playing sensible and keeping their wicket safe until the 8th over where Reshma was finally rewarded with a wicket. Edna was bought into the attack and took a wicket in the second over with a calm and collected catch from Mya. Ickenham's Jo Windsor was in and looking to attack the ball aggressively, but with great bowling and fielding was unable to find the boundary like she usually does, Keeley took a diving catch of her own bowling to send her back. We fought on in the field and continued to bowl well right down to them getting their last runs in the 22nd over. Just was not our day, well done for keeping with it until the end.
