Match report Richmond struggling to make a 6.30 start and with a light already dim, there was a slim chance to get a 20 over game in. Old Actonian Ladies being captained by Katie agreed a reduce it to a 15 over game with us fielding first as we had all but one of our 8 players present.

We got off to a good start with a wicket maiden over bowled by Mya, runs were coming slowly as Mya took her second wicket in the 3rd over. Mya and Elsa bowled well only giving away 19 runs off the first 6 overs. Katy, Anjlee and Edna joined in the attack Anjlee getting the wicket of a promising young Richmond colt, which bought in one of Richmonds big hitters who came on to hit 13 runs off 4 balls before getting run out. Having only 8 players left us with many gaps on the field, but we created great pressure and made every effort to chase down every ball leaving Richmond with a total of 78 to defend.

We mixed the batting up, with Reshma and Katy going into open. The ball was coming on slow and wide of the stumps they had to be patient and wait for a good ball. The runs came at a good pace and after 5 overs we were ahead of the run rate with 27 runs. Reshma (20) and Katy (10) fought through and retired after the 10th over to give Elsa and Mya a go with the bat. They both started well, but Elsa was soon given out LBW, which saw Anjlee at the crease. Both kept their nerve and played sensible with Mya hitting the winning run.

Good game ladies, it was hard with only 8 players - but well fought. Thank you to Katy's dad for scoring for us.
