Actonians Cricket Club Womens 1st XI v Harrow Ladies on Sun 20 Aug 2017 at 1.00pm
Actonians Cricket Club Won by 10 wickets

Match report So we started well by losing the toss and being put into field. Antonia and lucy opened with some great pressure on the batsmen. With only 7 runs on the board after 5 overs the much deserved first wicket came in the 6th over for Lucy as the batsmen played it on to their stumps. With Antonia racking up the dot balls at one end, Lucy struck again with a second wicket from a caught behind. Davies through to Davies. Reshma's genius plan to bring herself on 1st change brought a wicket first ball with a great catch from Amy. Just before drinks saw another wicket in the form of a run out. Keeley's deliberate misfield to make the batsmen run for a second then throw it into Resh, saw the wicket of their best batsman. Charlottes first league bowling started off well, having to keep changing from left to right was hard and a much deserved first wicket came in the 21st over hitting middle stump. Figures of 2-30 off 8 overs. Just bowl on the stumps was the motto. They were 91-6. The next 4 wickets went for only 7 runs with 15 balls in a row being dots. Trishala got the next run out with a great throw into me. Not to stop there she came on to bowl a fantastic spell of 5 overs for NO runs and 1 wicket. 4 maidens and 1 wicket-maiden taking the batsmen's middle stump. The next run out came from Antonia, Amy cleverly leaving the ball for Antonia to retrieve and throw it in (nearly taking my fingers the previous attempt!). Antonia really deserved a wicket and it came to her in the 33rd over. After butter fingers here missing a catch, and plum LBW not being given, a ball down leg clipped the bat for the final wicket. All out for 98. A great fielding display and less extras than usual so all positive.

Keeley and Katie went into open. A slow start and a couple of dropped catches in favour of us meant that it was actually quite a boring run chase. Katie started quickly then slowed up, whilst Keeley kept turning over the runs playing some lovely shots through the covers and to the mids. We had made it to drinks at 20 overs for 64 runs. Katie managed to pick one up and got a 6 (after telling the umpire it defo wasn't a 4)) Not much else to say but we made the runs and with Keeley gallantly giving up the strike for me to make a 50 it was a great performance. We got there total in the 28th over.

Great to see so many new players. Hope everyone had a good game and enjoyed themselves.
