Scorecard

Ealing Ladies v Actonians Cricket Club Womens 1st XI on Sun 26 Jun 2022 at 1.00pm
Actonians Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report Captain won the toss and elected to field. Antonia and Riya were the opening bowlers, both keeping Ealing on their toes and making sure their runs didn't exceed double figures within the first 8 overs. Riya claimed the first wicket with a plum LBW, Amy could've had the second with a lovely catch however she had toast for breakfast so it was a drop.
Antonia and Riya both bowled a maiden over and as their partnership came to an end Ealing had only secured 17 runs on the scoreboard after 10 overs.
Aishah and Laura were next into bowl and with some consistent bowling we saw a catch from behind the wicket from cap followed by a insane catch at slip from Saoirse. Ealing were struggling to get the runs flowing. Another maiden by Laura and then a double wicket maiden by Aishah saw Ealing's wickets fall fast. Batters were struggling with the scoreboard on 43 for 5 after 19 overs. The third and final pair of the match was Aishah and Gretchen bowling them out for 51. There was another catch from behind the wicket from Captain Katie (no toast for her this morning). Gretchen taking the 7th wicket with some fine bowling, teamwork from Aoife and Katie saw the 8th wicket fall to a run out. As Ealing only had 10 players the final wicket was taken by Gretchen bowling an LBW, that everyone but her appealed for, ending the game 51 for 9 off 23.4 overs

Saoirse and Keely opened the batting. Keely smashed two 4's in the second over putting her into double figures already. Great running between wickets, getting those singles and looking for the second and thirds runs. Saoirse hit a 4 in the fourth over followed by Keely hitting 2 4's off 2 free hits. Actonians were looking in good shape to claim a victory within the first 10 overs as only 17 runs were needed to win the match. However Ealing had other ideas with their bowling becoming a little more consistent. It couldn't stop the dream team until the 6th over which marked the end of Keely's time, a 'rolling ball' LBW saw her out with 25 runs on the board. Eva was next. Consistent running between wickets and Eva's 4 won Actonians the game in the 8th over. With an early finish the 1's were able to head back to the home ground and cheer on the 2's in their double winning victory.
