27 Dec 2017 : Tesco "Bags of Help Grant Scheme"

Earlier this year, the Ladies' section were successful in our application to Tesco's 'Bags of Help Grant Scheme' which provides funding to support community based projects, from proceeds of the 5p bag charge. The funding will be used to support the Thursday night ladies' development training sessions (as this project fitted the funding criteria) and to buy any additional equipment required, thereby supporting the wider club too.

What happens next?
Our project, titled '
Old Actonians Ladies CC; Outdoor Cricket Coaching', along with two other successful projects in the region, will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores between Monday 8th January and Wednesday 28th February 2018.

What do I have to do?
Every time you shop in Tesco (up to any value) - please ask for a token and place it in our voting box.  I'm unsure of the layout in each store, but from my experience it is a small stand of clear plastic boxes, usually on the way out. Please ask a member of staff if you can't find it. Please note you do not have to purchase a carrier bag to get a token!

Where can I vote?
The following stores will all have our project listed, so please support these stores as much as possible!
              Store:                                            Postcode:    Store Type:

2012    ACTON EXPRESS                       W3 9RH         Express

6836    SOUTHALL KING ST EXP           UB2 4DB       Express
5388    UXBRIDGE RD W EAL EXP         W13 8SB       Express

To check the location of any of the above stores, please go to the tesco website here:
http://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/

Why is it important?
If we get the highest number of votes, we will receive £2000 which will be vital in supporting the club this year.

These funding opportunities don't come round too often, so please get shopping, voting and spread the word to all your family and friends to do the same! Every little (vote) helps! And please let me know if you experience any difficulties casting your vote, and I will chase it up with the people at the scheme.

Thank you for your support as always.

Katy O (Ladies' Treasurer)

23 Nov 2017 : Helpers Course - Sunday 28th January 2018

The Middlesex Colts Association, Central Area will be offering another helpers course this winter – it’s a great way of getting extra resources into our club to support our coaches with the work they undertake with our juniors.

The course is specifically designed to encourage more active participation from parents, older brothers and sisters etc. It is free of charge and requires no technical knowledge of the game. It is suitable for anyone who might not feel confident enough to undertake a formal coaching course/qualification.

Sunday 28th January 2018 at Brentside High School from 10.15am to 2.00pm.

Address: Brentside High School, Greenford Avenue, Hanwell, London, W7 1JJ

Ideally participants should bring along a cricket bat and be prepared for various cricketing activities so tracksuit/training clothes and indoor trainers would be advisable.

Please let me know if you are interested or have any questions.

I look forward to hearing from you.

04 Jul 2015 : Club Clothing now online
You can now order club match wear and leisurewear online. We have set up a facility with Gray Nicholls where we can order direct with them - this will speed up the ordering process considerably.

The link is on the right hand side of the screen at the top of the sponsors menu - it's the Old Actonians logo - just click on that and it will take you to the website.

The new club caps (included in your 2015 adult male subs) and the white training tops will still need to be ordered via Clifford - we are holding a small stock of both. We also have a small stock of cricket shirts (short sleeve) if they are of interest.
