A disappointing weekend ends
on a
dramatic high...and the
sun is out!
Whisper it, but it looks like summer is here, and one can only assume the powers that be in the sky were warmed by Old A's last-gasp, one run victory over Enfield in the Middlesex Cup on Sunday. James 'the only way is' Essex has penned a very eloquent match report, which you can read alongside the scorecard here. A terrific victory against a side that were two divisions above us last season.
Alas other results did not go our way. The 1s lost at home to Bessborough in the league on Saturday, an inexperienced 2s side lost a very close match at North London (match report here), while the 3s didn't score enough runs against MTSSC.
There was much to encourage the Ladies on Sunday, although they lost too on against reigning champions Wanstead. Marilyn Smith scored an unbeaten 62 for Old A's, and there were several good performances, especially from the new players.
