Actonians Cricket Club

Actonians Cricket Club 3rd XI squad

If Carlsberg did Cricket teams...
3rd XI 3rd XI

Captain : Nathan Mehaffy

Bowling all-rounder hailing from the mean streets of Warkworth, New Zealand. Have had a few seasons with Old Actonians now (some better than others). Always keen for a beer and a yarn...

Favourite New Zealand joke:

How does a Kiwi find a sheep in the long grass?

Very nice, thank you!

Vice Captain : Andrew Spinks

Tom Byrne
Worcestershire lad now living in West London. Probably Old A's most stylish member, on and off the field. Likes a full toss, loves Taylor Swift #YOLO

Andrew Jones
2016. Previously wicket-keeper for Hanwell 3rd XI
Andrew Maben
Hailed as the next David Gower - 30 years ago - this classy left-hander claims to have a cover drive that Moeen Ali would die for.
Charlie Price

Right hand bat

Right arm seamer. Net bowler

Asif Qamar
Started playing cricket in 1988 in Pakistan coming across the likes of Shahid Afridi, Moin Khan & Rashid Latif. Afridi remembers him fondly as he once hit Asif for 5 sixes in a row.

Played previously for Croydon and Perivale/Phoenicians Cricket clubs before joining Old Actonians in 2008.

Has a theory regarding cricket that is - to bowl, bat and field is not enough, you must have a cricket sense, you have to be mentally strong, must believe in yourself; yes, I can do it at any cost.
Shaiq Qamar
players player of the year 2013
Keir Smith
Left arm in swing in the righ conditions. Down hill wind behind can hit 50Mph
Steve Smith
Unfit, drinks too much but somehow takes wickets.
