Some wonderful recognition at the recent Ealing Borough Sports Awards ceremony. We walked away with 3 winners and nearly had a double hat-trick with one of our young cricketers.
1. Junior Club of the Year - recognising our work in encouraging children from all backgrounds to develop and grow their love of cricket
2. Coach of the Year - Bobby Behzadi - for his work at Little Ealing Primary School and his volunteer cricket coaching at Actonians. Bobby not only provides a vital link for us with the school but his award acknowledged his ability to create an inspiring environment for children to both participate and gain confidence through a wide range of sports not just cricket.
3. Outstanding Contribution to Sport - Yours truly!!!.(I think I owe someone a large drink).
We so very nearly got the double hat-trick with Molly Ebdon - who was recognised in the Junior Sports Person of the Year category. An amazing achievement being nominated from a huge number of entries. Molly's achievements in cricket, netball, athletics and NFL Flag were all acknowledged but unfortunately she just missed out.
Many thanks to all of the coaches and helpers at the club - without their efforts none of the above would have been possible.
