We have been contacted by Peter Bradshaw who played for Old
Actonians in the 1950’s. He is interested in finding a copy of the 1954 Fixture
Card – Does anyone have a copy or know of anyone who might?
Peter remembers the Barwick’s; the captain at the time was Lionel
Perkins (whose sister he married). He talks about celebrating his birthday on
the 8th May at the Abbey Hotel back in 1954.
This has reminded me that something we are not very good at is
recording our history - myself, Robbo and Smithy are trying to rectify this –
so any help with this or any other historical artefact is appreciated - Old
team photo’s; scorebooks etc
We have our Centenary Season coming up in a couple of years and it would be good to get as much information together as possible.
