Old Actonians Summer Cricket Camp - Kids Community Games
Date: Monday 30th July 2012 - 10am-12noon, all ages welcome
Location: Old Actonians Sports Club, Gunnersbury Drive, off Popes Lane W5 4LL
About the Games:
Monday 30th July is the first day of our Summer Cricket Camp at Old Actonians Cricket Club in Ealing - so we’ll have our Community Games Kids Day today, building on the excitement of the Olympic torch passing through Ealing just six days before (on July 24). This event is likely to inspire the children to get involved in some Olympics-inspired sports, with a bit of a cricket twist, for example:
- (battery) torch relay around perimeter of ground to open the day
- javelin throw using a cricket stump
- shot-put with cricket ball
- hoops: hook-a-cricket-cap
- boat racing on a paddling pool
- standing long-jump
- cricket ball rolls (into small goal)
- cricket bat balancing
- general track-and-field
- medal ceremony at end, plus certificates for all who took part
Parents and other family members invited to stay and join in. If it’s sunny, and we have a crowd, maybe even get the barbecue going!
