Long may it last. This is due to another magnificent victory to the ladies team. Cath Goold was back as captain, with the remains of a black eye from last weeks accident. It clearly didn’t affect her vision this week, as she held the innings together with 38 runs. She was well supported by Sarah Baigent with 20, and then Katie Davies came to the crease. She showed her intent with a 4 first ball and went on to make a powerful 89 not out. Getting closer to her first 100 for the ladies team. Well batted Katie. Margaret Page added a quickfire 14 and we ended on 187 off our 30 overs.

Viola Lough and Ally Panton opened the bowling. They bowled brilliantly together, Viola going for 9 runs off her 5 overs and Ally 15 runs off 5. It was pretty much game over – Chesham needed 6.3 an over from the start, and this rose to 8.2 an over after the first 10 overs. Reshma Garrera bowled well, and got the opener lbw. Margaret Page had an excellent spell, of 1 for 1 off 4 overs, Sarah Baigent went for 6 runs off her 3 overs and newcomer Edna Moses chipped in with 2 overs at the end, and was unlucky not to take a wicket, with catches falling into the gaps.

Great win ladies – lets keep it up.
