Match report Ickenham were put in to bat, and started slowly and carefully. The usual tight opening bowling from Camille Harrison and Marilyn Smith was backed up by excellent fielding all round. Ickenham struggled to find gaps, and all balls were chased down. A brilliant throw by Ally Panton got our first wicket with a run out. Viola Lough came on to bowl, and took 3 wickets for 15 runs, backed up by the increasing pace of Ally Panton. Sarah Baigent and Reshma Garrara came on to vary the bowling and Ickenham did not like this. Sarah cleaned up 3 wickets for 29, and Reshma also took a wicket. The strong fielding performance was clear with catches by Lauren Oliver, Camille Harrison, Marilyn Smith and Katie Davies. Debbie Curtis kept really tidily, making sure that Ickenham earnt every one of their 113 runs
Ickenham only had 9 players but they never gave up. They probably never expected to have us 28 for 3 in the 4th over, but thats cricket. Marilyn Smith and Lucy Davies put on a stand of 70, with Lucy getting 25 and Marilyn 56 not out.
Another victory for the girls. We've played everyone once - now for the return fixtures.
