Match report A sad day for us, as Reshma played her last match for a year, as she goes off travelling tomorrow morning. We wish you all the best Reshma, and hope to see you again next year, fully refreshed after your travels (and hopefully that large bruise on your thumb will have gone down by then).
We put Ickenham into bat, and hopes were high when we took two early wickets. A great throw by Hannah Thurston, well taken by Debbie Curtis, got a run out, and Marilyn Smith had the other opener caught behind by Debbie. 17 for 2, and things were going well. Then the Ickenham bats took us to task. Jo Windsor batted well for 102 not out, and she was well supported by Erin Simmonds. Salma Virk broke the partnership by bowling Simmonds, and then Hannah Thurston bowled Ash Popat. It was hard work in the field, with Katy O'Sullivan, Asma Aftab and Brazilian twins Silvia and Helena Dias having to chase a lot of balls down. We were given the large target of 177.
Cath Goold and Margaret Page set us on the way, scoring 16 and 24 respectively. Marilyn Smith then chipped in with 23, and Hannah Thurston played a very mature innings of 12 not out. Salma Virk and Silvia Dias also chipped in with runs, but alas, the target was too large, and we finished on 104. Just enough to get that extra batting point, which may well be crucial.

The table below shows how close it all is. We may be fourth, but we have played 2 more games than Chesham and Ickenham below us. We have 2 league matches left : Harrow Town on Sunday 11th August and Chesham on Sunday 18th August

Dont forget we also have a 20/20 match in cricket week on Thursday 22nd August to finish off the season

Training continues on Tuesday nights, and we may be able to fit in another Thursday evening fixture
