Match report Tonight saw a midweek friendly for the ladies on Twickenham Green. We fielded first, and took a wicket second ball, with an excellent catch at gully by on loan Twickenham player Amy Richford. This was the first of Reshma Garrera’s 3 wickets. At the other end, debutante Edna Moses bowled her first ever in ladies cricket. A maiden. The pressure was on Twickenham. Reshma’s excellent line and length at the Pavilion End took 2 quick wickets. We all crowded round for the hat trick ball, but it wasn’t to be. Not to be outdone, Edna took 2 wickets, finishing with figures of 2 for 7 off 3 overs. The Davies girls then came on to bowl. Katie took 1 for 13 and Lucy 2 for 8. Twickenham were rocking at 28 for 8 off 9 overs. Salma Virk, also playing her first match, bowled very well, and Katie and Lucy Davies combined well for a run. Twickenham limped to 53 all out in 13.4 overs.
Debbie Curtis and Lauren Oliver opened the batting. Lauren batted very sensibly to 17 runs. Debbie supported her well with 3 runs and then Edna Moses came in and started scoring at will. She retired hurt on 12. Salma Virk and Lucy Davies batted sensibly and we won in 13.4 overs
A fun and enjoyable match followed, by an excellent tea. Thanks Twickenham and we will try and arrange a rematch one evening soon
