Match report We won the toss (again) and chose to bat. Mazza’s new superlight pads didn’t help her run much as she was caught out for a duck in the first over. Luckily Keely Juster applied herself better and batted right through for 79 not out. Katie Davies came in and hit a powerful 46, followed by Lucy Davies, who hit a quickfire 44 in 28 balls. Including her first 6 for the ladies. Oclevia followed with a well hit 8 runs, and Eimar Baigent scored her first run for the ladies team. Edna Moses (5) and Reshma Garrara (0) were not out. We put on a formidable 197 off our 30 overs.
Hemel Hempstead started slowly, and Mazza took an early wicket. Katie O’Sullivan came on and took 2 wickets, and debutante Rhiannon Smith took her first wicket for the club. Reshma Garrara and Edna Moses bowled very tightly as usual, and were supported by excellent fielding and wicket keeping by Oclevia. Under 15’s Katie reeves and Eimar Baigent bowled their first overs in ladies cricket and Eimar took 2 wickets. A run out from Reshama, who had a blinding game fielding at fine leg, and another wicket for Maz kept Hemel Hempstead down to 91
A resounding win for the ladies team. Great effort all round, with everyone contributing.
Thanks to Givon for umpiring, and massive thanks to Roheet and Josh for coming along to score for us ( and to Ramon for graciously relinquishing scoring duties to go and revise physics)
