Match report After a couple of weeks break we were back to playing cricket. And back to playing Chesham for the 3rd time this season,. 1:1 so far, so this was the decider. Maz lost the toss and we were put in to bat. Maz and Keeley opened at a brisk pace. Maz was caught out for 12 in the 12th over, with the score on 47 after 10 overs. Katie came in and hit a brisk 16. Lucy then joined Keeley at the crease. They pushed the score on to 111 when Keeley was caught after an excellent 58. Edna joined Lucy and this pair attacked the bowling. Lucy got 36 and Edna was 24 not out. Mags and Ellie got 2 each and we posted a total of 177. Pretty pleased with that.
So, a decent total to defend. They came out, swinging the bat , determined to hit everything they could. And they needed to, with a run rate of 6 an over. Maz didn't help them, her first 3 overs were maidens and her 6 overs went for 12 runs. That slowed them down. They did bat very well, and attacked where they could, but they were always behind the run rate. Telling them tom go for it at drinks didn't help, as they went for it and got bowled by Edna! Next wicket was an excellent run out by Reshma, and then Mags caught one in the gulley off Reshma. Ellie came on to bowl, took one wicket and was pretty annoyed to drop the oppo star off the last ball of the innings. Worse, off her own bowling!. Maz bowled 0-12, Edna bowled 1 for 23, Mags 0-26, Lucy 0-22, Reshma 1-36 and Ellie 1-5 off 2
Good game girls.We didn't panic, kept the pressure on with tight bowling and fielding.
