Match report Very hot day at Old Actonian’s. So hot that the supporters cheered from cooling themselves in a paddling pool from the side of the pitch!
We won the toss again, and this time elected to field. Antonia and Camille gave us an excellent start. After 8 overs, Hampstead were 16 for 3 off the bat. All three wickets were bowled. Antonia 2 for 11 and Camille 1 for 5 off their 4 overs. Reshma came on to bowl, and the pressure caused Hampstead to start taking risks. Big mistake, as Edna got a run out. Lucy then took a diving catch at cover to take the wicket of the Hampstead captain, who had opened, and was holding the innings together. Reshma got 1 for 15 off her 4 overs. Maz came on to bowl and got ex Actonian Esme Cooke caught and bowled. Edna cleaned up with 2 for 9.
Great fielding girls, especially Amy, Katie and Katy. Athletic work behind the stumps Debbie – you were tested today!
So, we restricted Hampstead to 81 for 8 off their 20 overs.
Maz and Rebecca opened the batting and hogged it. Maz 50 not out and Rebecca 28 not out saw us home in the 15th over.

We have High Wycombe in the next round on 5 June, so make sure you are all available. That is the quarter final, so win that and we are through to finals day for the third year running.
