Match report There was some rain in the air after a drizzly morning, but that didn't put a stop to the BBQ. A crowd was in to cheer on Lily in her first senior game. Reshma won the toss and put Eastcote into bat. Playing with 9 players, meant we had to work hard in the field. Emily and Reshma opened the bowling and the Eastcote openers started aggressive. They were running for singles and putting the bad balls away, we worked hard but weren't getting many opportunities. Lucy came into the bowling attack and took a wicket in her first over, just what we needed. The runs slowed began to slow down and they were 75 for 2 at 10 overs. Lucy continued take wickets after drinks finishing on 3 for 16 off her 4 overs. It was Elsa and Lilys' turn with the ball, both bowled well, with Lily taking her first wicket for the ladies team in the second over. She finished with 1-17 off 3 overs. Eastcote had push with the runs and finished with 127 off their 20 overs.

The sun was out drying the outfield and we hoped that would help the ball to the boundary for our innings. Lucy and Julie opened, both hoping to gets some runs under the belt this season. They needed little time to settle in and the runs started flowing nicely, they both batted sensibly rotating the strike and waiting for the bad balls. In comparison we were ahead at drinks with 83/0. The break proved disruptive as Julie was bowled in the first over back, she batted brilliantly and finished on 25. This saw Lily into the middle who went out and supported Lucy really well running hard for singles and keeping the strike rotating. We took it too the last over and won by 6 wickets. Lucy finished on 64 and Lily on 2. Congratulations to Lucy for her fantastic all round performance today and Lily for her wicket for the ladies on her debut. Great win.
