Match report On the hottest day of the year to date, Eastcote arrived with 10 players which we would have matched had Molly sadly been unwell and unable to make it - the team missed you Molly!

Eastcote won the toss and chose to field. Batting first is new to Actonians U13's this season so would be a good test of laying down a serious score.

Valeria and Caitlin opened but Caitlin was quickly out with a catch behind. On came Emma and a strong partnership ensued with Valeria eventually being bowled for 19 runs. Abbie was a nervous 3rd bat but soon got over that and whilst Emma retired at 35, Abbie finished the innings on 29 with Andrea doing a great job of running for the last few balls. A total of 165 runs.

Eastcote had a lot to do but their 1st and 3rd batter went on to bat for more than 12 overs, steadily building their runs and frustrating Actonians's bowlers, especially Valeria, and Emma's multiple attempts at run outs. But when the wickets came, they came in quick succession and the 20 overs ended 85 for 6.

Special shout outs to Alice for a maiden over and to Ava and Daisy (I think) for their hardball debut. Particularly to Daisy for two excellently bowled overs.

An excellent win, on a lovely evening, against a friendly opposition.
