Match report An outstanding individual performance by all-rounder Brad Kuypers proved decisive in Old Actonians’ first away match of the season.
Against his old side, Ealing-based GWR, Kuypers blew away the opposition’s middle- and lower-order batting with a hostile display of medium fast bowling, ending with figures of 7-45.
In blustery and wet conditions Old A’s First XI mastered the conditions to bowl out GWR for a modest 118, Aussie opening bowler Adam Pearson chipping in with 2-33 in a marathon 23 over spell. New club-recruit Mark Robinson supported well with 1-30.
Opening the batting, Kiwi Kuypers then topped scored with 35 as Old A’s easily chased down 119 in 38 overs for the loss of just three batters to win by seven wickets.
Queenslander Pearson notched up 28 unbeaten runs — he has yet to lose his wicket this season — and stroke-maker Bilal Ali contributed a handy 29.
