As you will be
aware that the ECB has today (18th March) recommended that all forms
of recreational cricket are for now suspended. Furthermore, you may be aware
that the Sports Club (all of the Gunnersbury Drive facilities) and the
Boddington Gardens complex will be closed from 2pm on Friday 20th
March until further notice.
These are
extraordinary and exceptionally testing times, and for us, as a Club and
passionate cricketers, the inability to play cricket is of course extremely
disappointing. That disappointment, however, needs to be put in the context of
the unprecedented public health crisis facing this country, and I urge you all
to follow, to the letter, the Government's advice, guidance and direction,
because above all each of us needs to do what we can to protect those who are
vulnerable in our society, and to keep our health service functioning at this
time.
We will update
members as soon as we have further news.
