Joint statement from Middlesex Junior Cricket
Association and Middlesex Cricket
Issued 20th March 2020
These
are extraordinary and exceptionally testing times for Middlesex Cricket, MJCA
and our passionate young cricketers; the inability to take part in cricket is
of course extremely disappointing and frustrating but given the circumstances
we totally accept it is right to suspend all cricketing activity.
At
this stage, in such a fast moving situation, it is impossible to say with any
certainty what this will mean for the forthcoming season; we are in unchartered
waters – however, we are determined to maximise the amount of cricket
(including the option of a rescheduled competitive programme) we can provide
for our young people this summer but only when it is safe to do so. Once
the all clear is given we hope it will still be summer and people will be
looking for outdoor activities and we will again have the opportunity to
promote our wonderful game and its ability to bring people back together again.
We
will keep you informed of any further developments, including announcements
from the ECB, Middlesex Cricket and the Middlesex Junior Cricket Association
once we have them.
