Match report The 3s remain winless at Boddingtons this season after this rather hefty defeat against a strong Gymkhana. We actually won the corresponding fixture earlier in the season but they were clearly stronger this time around. Nathan won the toss and naturally put them in. However they got a bit of a flier and were 69 without loss after 13 overs. On came Smithy and won LBW appeals against both their openers. He picked up another soon after and when Bilal Butt pulled off a brilliant run out from mid wicket, we had pegged them back to 117 for 4. However the runs kept flowing as our paucity in the bowling department was exposed. None of their batsmen reached 50 in their total of 294 and we gave them 43 extras too. We have not played anyone this season that have come close to bowling the quantity of no balls that we have. It is pretty shocking. On a positive note our standards in the field where maintained despite the onslaught.

At least we had a Karen tea to gorge on at the break as we contemplated our run chase. The less said the better I think. 2 run outs (1 at the non strikers end)and a stumping by their keeper standing back pretty much summed it up. Bilal and H threatened to put a partnership together but once they get out the innings folded in just over 25 overs.

7 games to go and its looking tight at the foot of the table. Need to pick up some wins soon guys. Time to gird the loins, fix the bayonets and follow the skipper over the top. Nathan split his webbing when a ball was drilled back to him but gave it a rinse and came back to finish the over. What a trooper. Those 5 stitches wont stop him playing this week though as head up to Crouch End to play North London.
