Match report Thanks to last weeks crushing win over SKLP the 3s went into their last game against Crouch End hoping to go out with a bang. Unfortunately no one remembered to bring a gun so we had to make do with a shoeing by a team with a slim chance of promotion. They needed one of the top two to lose to one of the relegated teams. Not surprisingly they were uber keen and went through a lengthy warm up routine. Again not surprisingly they won the toss and decided to put us in.

Not sure I will dwell on our innings too much as we lost wickets at regular intervals. Harry was caught out in the first over and Mike followed soon after getting bowled round his legs. That left us 14 for 2. Shahid and Andrew both looked in good touch before they fell in quick succession soon followed by JD who clothed a full toss straight to mid wicket. H and TP attempted a rebuild as they put on 30 for the 6th wicket. H got off the mark with a sumptuous straight six but we quickly subsided to be all out for 92 in the 28th over. Tea had yet to arrive so we took to the field for what turned out to be a 13 over stint. Piri bowled one of their openers but they would have been happy to reach tea at 46 for 1. After the break JD bowled a tidy spell which included the wicket of the other opener and Sahil got one through the defences of the batsman who scored a ton against us last time. It was all over in 24 overs and it was back to the club for a burger!

A damp squib of an ending against a very motivated team who will be in the mix for promotion next season. However we can reflect on a decent campaign in which we retained our status in a tough division. Our man of the match has to be JD for his bowling, Schlong de la Jour goes to the skipper for his reluctance to take himself off!

All in all another enjoyable season if a bit frustrating at times.
